Hi, friends! Happy weekend! We’ve stayed busy again this week and I captured most of the highlights on my iPhone. Ready for a recap? Here we go!
My oldest had his first day of Kindergarten this week. He was SO ready and excited…I was NOT. I cried the whole time, but I’m happy to report that I’ve adjusted (pretty well) to having him gone most of the day. I do miss him, though!
Many cool morning walks in the woods with these tree huggers…
Whole Foods donut while shopping. I swear, this kid has donut radar and can smell them a mile away. And he’s the youngest…so he usually gets what he wants. 🙂
New Star Wars light-up Crocs (plus these Star Wars Jibbitz, which all three of the boys shared).
Playing ball (and this kick went straight to my face while I was snapping the pic)!
A typical Spencer lunch (Peanut Butter on Whole Wheat, Cinnamon Applesauce, Pirate’s Booty).
Practicing our selfie.
Casey’s request:
Casey’s craft project (bird, bird’s nest, moss, eggs):
Nutella Heaven.
Iced tea on the front porch.
A new magazine subscription from Mom!
Rocks!
A weed…er “flower” that “smells SO GOOD, Mom! Just like tomato juice!” Mmmmm…
Pom-pom treasure chest.
On Friday afternoon when Gibbs got out of school we headed up to my parents’ house for dinner. My brother was in town for a friend’s wedding reception, so we spent the night in Reston and visited with Uncle Spencer,
played with lots of trucks and trains,
and built new Lego sets with GrandDaddy.
Yesterday morning my mom and I took the dogs (and the boys) for a walk in the woods after breakfast.
We then headed south around lunchtime to reunite with Keith, who had been gone most of the week on a business trip in Seattle. We had a quiet afternoon at home while the kids rested and I got started on some fall baking projects for the blog (a couple of successes and one MAJOR fail — not to be photographed!)…
We picked up carry-out pizza for dinner, ate some cookies, and called it an early night!
This morning I started my day with a fall favorite. I had left-over pumpkin in the refrigerator from yesterday’s baking, so I used some of it in Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal (topped with dried cranberries and pecans).
I put some soup in the slow cooker for later,
and we headed out to get a little bit of exercise as a family.
Now Keith and the boys are outside fixing a gate along the fence line while I sit and type up this post. I’ve got laundry to do, bed sheets to change, and a chicken stir-fry recipe to put together. Off I go!
Have a great week!
