With the holidays on the horizon, this 15-Minute Jump Rope Workout is the perfect way to squeeze in a quick but incredibly effective workout — no matter where you travel or how busy your schedule! By combining short bursts of high-intensity cardio with strength training exercises, you get a full body workout in one very efficient exercise routine!

"Hop Through the Holidays" with this fun & challenging 15 Minute Jump Rope Workout! It burns fat and strengthens muscles in a short amount of time!Hi, friends! I’m so excited to be back today with another fun post for the Kohl’s #MakeYourMove campaign. As I mentioned in my first post, the goal of the Make Your Move program is to show Americans that living well and feeling good can be easy and fun. Getting healthy doesn’t have to be about deprivation or punishment. Instead, let’s lead a balanced and healthier life by doing the things that energize, enliven, and motivate us! We can celebrate delicious foods, find physical activities that bring us joy, and learn to focus more on the important people and moments in our lives.

Today’s workout routine is one of my favorite FUN and effective ways to get my heart rate up and break a sweat, even on my busiest days. And since everyone seems to be bombarded with social engagements, travel, and additional responsibilities at this time of year, I figured that we could probably all use some time-saving exercise tips.

Conveniently, you can grab all of the healthy living gear that you need at Kohl’s. In addition to some comfortable attire, you’ll (obviously) need a jump rope for this workout (perfect for stashing in a suitcase, travel bag, or work desk for exercise on-the-go)!

And friends — this is one of my BEST Busy Mom workout tips — if you wear workout gear that transitions easily from gym to street, it makes squeezing in a workout SO much easier!

If you’re already dressed in appropriate clothing and you don’t have to change after your workout, you’re much more likely to just get that workout DONE. Double-duty clothing that works well for a few minutes with the jump rope and for the grocery store or preschool pick-up line is KEY to getting it all done!

My choices here? A perfectly chic pair of Tek Gear® Shapewear Workout Pants, the silky-soft Gaiam Studio to Street Balance Cowlneck Yoga Hoodie, and some Nike Flex Trainer 5 Cross-Trainers.

I especially love the ruching detail on the top. Plus, the tunic length makes it perfect for wearing with leggings or tighter pants (as shown here) as you go about your day!

And these shoes! They’re comfortable, but they’re also sleek enough to wear around town without feeling like a slob!

And since cooler temps mean layers are a MUST, I love that I can throw on this soft, cozy, and WARM Columbia fleece jacket for outdoor workouts or post-workout errands. On this particular morning, I put it on over my workout clothes for a cool morning outdoors…and then left it on all day until I finally took a shower that night!

Shall we get started? For your convenience, I have included a printable copy of the workout HERE.

  1. You’re so adorable, Blair!! Jump-rope is my FAVORITE form of cardio! So fast and effective. I aim for 15-20 minutes twice/week, but sometimes it ends up being once! 😉 I would jump rope all day long if I had the same view as you though – the landscape around you is so beautiful!

    1. Hah! Thanks, Sarah! Yep, jumping rope is definitely one of the most efficient ways to get in shape — and it’s way more fun when there are nice views involved. 🙂

  2. I should get me a jump rope and bring it on the road with me this holiday season when traveling! I am going to be all over the place and not really sure where the gyms are when I go!! 😮 But YOLO – I am a crazy exerciser, but I need to live in the moment!

  3. That’s such a great idea! I always forget about the jump rope and it definitely gets my heart rate going fast!

  4. Jump Rope is SUCH a great workout! I used to be really good about remembering to do it earlier this year but kinda forgot about it. I think it’s time i reincorporate it into my routine!

    1. I know — I totally forget about it too, Holly. I need to make a point to keep up with it because it’s so darn efficient!
