Since we’re focused on “Farms” this week, I decided that an appropriate art activity should combine both paint and TRACTORS. This was an easy project to pull together, considering the over-abundance of toy tractors in our house, yard, sandbox, etc. They are everywhere.
We used the following supplies:
Washable tempera paint, paint tray liners, toy tractors, poster board.
I just poured some paint into each tray liner, placed a tractor alongside, and let the boys go at it!
This was a fun way to spend some time outdoors on a relatively cool, cloudy summer day. I definitely recommend the washable tempera paint, however, because it’s not exactly a “clean” project.
The boys loved to see the different tire tracks that each vehicle made. If you used primary colors, you could even include a color theory lesson at the same time!
Serious concentration!
Gibbs was very proud of his finished product!
And he was equally proud of his “colorful” hands…
and feet!
