Hi there, and Happy Father’s Day! Did you see my post from Friday night where I shared the first part of our road trip adventures? I think that I left off with our arrival at my brother’s house in Orlando, so I’ll pick up from there!
After a pizza dinner on Friday evening, we woke up on Saturday morning and headed out to Legoland, which was the #1 item on my boys’ summer wish list. Check that box!
It was about 100 degrees and humid, but the kids did not seem to mind. They had a blast!
We were all happy to cool off at home with a late afternoon swim and some cocktails,
and a little bit of playtime,
before a delicious dinner of grilled salmon, Caesar salad and…bedtime!
This morning we made the kids dress up in some new shirts so that we could get a group photo to send to their grandparents (as requested). They ACTUALLY cooperated for a few seconds!
Then we spent the morning at the pool before heading home for lunch (and naps for the babies).
The older kids are at the playground right now, I’m sitting by the pool typing this post while Spence sleeps, and we’re planning a quiet evening at the house to celebrate the dads. We have steaks for the grill and a special dessert on the menu.
We’re headed home bright and early tomorrow morning, but will be making a pit stop in Charlotte at the Great Wolf Lodge on our way. Have a great week ahead!
Legoland looks like it was a huge hit!! How exciting! Looks like those boys had the time of their lives! 🙂 So glad you guys are having a great time on your vacation!
It has definitely been fun, Anna…but we’re all exhausted!! 🙂
Lovely as always & thank you for sharing. 1st picture of Spence in car looking around at LEGOLAND as if “what is all this?” The picture for the Grandparents was very nice. All being in the same shirt makes it so much more frame able. Dd was big on spending time in the pool. Sure use to take the last of the energy out of her.
Thanks Jeanette! We’ve had a great time!
